Things We've Done Recently

Recent events include our regular Pop-Up Pub and Pizza evenings in conjunction with Pizza Box; another popular Quiz Night in conjunction with Baschurch Fish & Chips Shop; the Weston Wobble cycling event and a MacMillan Cancer Support Afternoon Tea fundraiser.

Stanwardine Hall - Amble and BBQ

Many thanks to Fiona and Peter Bridge and family for hosting the superb amble and tours of Stanwardine Hall, not forgetting the excellent Barbecue and Ice Creams! Much appreciated by all who attended.

Coronation Big Lunch

Villagers celebrated the ‘Coronation Big Lunch’ on one of the few sunny and warm days of the year so far with a ‘Bring & Share’ picnic in the School playing fields.

A big Thank You to everyone who helped to organise the event and to those who turned out to help and enjoy a fine array of food and drinks.

Quiz Night

Our most recent quiz evening was a most enjoyable event and was attended by 67 people. A variety of teams competed over six rounds and the eventual winners were 'The Knights of the Comically Low Table'. Their unusual furniture did not prevent them from achieving victory over their competitors.
Profits of over £700 from the evening will go into The Village Hall funds and help pay the annual insurance premium for the year of almost £1000.
We would like to thank the Baschurch Fish & Chip Shop who provided the food, all those who helped organise, set up, run and clear up after the event, not forgetting our Quiz Master Simon Hey.
Thanks also to all the people who attended, making the evening so enjoyable.

Defibrillator Fund

Following the recent Pop up Pub and Pizza evening the excellent sum of
£250 was donated to The Henry Angell-James Trust.

£125.10 of this came from the Village Hall donation box which included a donation from the Ladies coffee morning.
